Children with Attention Deficit Disorder more likely to bully…
by isaaA new study has shown that children with ADHD are almost 4 times more likely to be bullies. On the flipside, these same kids were found to be almost 10 times more likely to be the victims of bullying prior to being bullies themselves.
The year-long study involved all 4th graders in a school in Stockholm.
It was felt the study might help parents and teachers appreciate the possibility of other underlining factors affecting a child with ADHD, beyond the obvious behavioural and attention issues.
However, it was also felt treating ADHD wouldn’t treat the bullying as ADHD drugs improve a child’s concentration span but don’t deal with the aggression that could lead to bullying.
