Less Salt Equals Less Soda Intake in Kids…
by isaaScientists at St George’s University of London have found that children who consume less salt have a tendency to drink less fluids in general (and therefore less sugared soft drinks). This also reduced their chances of high blood pressure, obesity and other health related problems later on in their lives.
The study was carried out in the UK on approximately 1600 boys and girls aged between 4 and 18 years old. The researchers calculated that if a child had a 1g reduction in their daily salt intake, it would reduce their soft drink consumption by as much as 27g a day.
