No TV for kids under 3…

(United Kingdom): A psychologist told Members of Parliament yesterday that children under 3 years old should not be allowed to watch TV at all as it can adversely affect their linguistic and social development. It could also pose increased health risks such as obesity, ADHD and autism.

Dr A Sigman, a member of the Institute of Biology and a British Psychological Society fellow, believed that 90 minutes of television a day is enough to cause such damage.

The doctor also mentioned that children aged between 3 and 7 years should only be allowed 30 minutes to an hour’s worth of television a day.
