Properly washing your fruits and vegetables is important to protect your children from possible illness. Toxoplasmosis is a contaminant that could be found in the soil your vegetables were grown in. Infection could make your child seriously ill.
Fruits are more likely to have harmful pesticides on their skin. Proper washing techniques will flush away any harmful residues.
A vegetable brush can help to scrun away the impurities, although you don’t have to scrub very hard. While there are new vegetable detergents on the market, they are really unnecessary. Proper washing will do the trick.
Wash your vegetables and fruit in cool to warm water for at least 20 seconds. Use a brush or your fingers to be sure that you get into all of the cracks. After washing, cut the vegetables on a clean cutting board.
Fruits and vegetables contain great nutritional value for your kids. Prepare them properly by washing them first so they can reap the full benefits!
